When more is removed
There are seasons when it feels like God is removing more than He’s adding. Relationships end, opportunities close, and old structures fall away with nothing new yet to take their place. These pruning seasons are rarely comfortable.

Trust without the full picture
Genesis 6:7 comes at the beginning of a dramatic pruning moment. The world had become so corrupted that only a complete reset could bring healing, and God was preparing to wipe the slate clean. Noah was called to trust Him and build an ark without knowing what the world would look like after the flood.
Trusting God in a pruning season means accepting that you may not understand why the cutting is happening. It means holding on to His character when circumstances feel overwhelming, believing that His holiness matters and that He prunes what needs to go so that what remains can flourish.

God’s sorrow and faithfulness
God’s sorrow was not regret over a mistake, but the sorrow of a Father watching His children destroy themselves and choosing to intervene. That same Father sees you today and knows what He’s preparing you for on the other side.
Noah’s story didn’t end with the flood; it ended with a rainbow, a covenant, and a new beginning. Trusting God in uncertainty doesn’t mean pretending everything is fine; it means believing He is good even when the season is hard. He will walk with you through it. Will you choose to trust Him today, even when tomorrow is unclear?

Today’s practice
Name one thing God may be pruning
Write down one thing God may be pruning from your life right now. Then write the truth beneath it and speak it aloud.
Beneath it:
I trust that God is good, even in the cutting.
